One Month Old!

Today I am one month old! I have been here in the world for one whole month and I have already changed so much. I weigh a lot more than when I first came. Mommy says I now weigh about 10 pounds. When I was born I weighed 8 pounds and 1 ounce.

Today I had my frenulum clipped because it was too short. My tongue wasn't able to stick out as much before it was clipped. It should help me eat better which is good for me and Mommy. It didn't hurt too bad. The doctor sprayed something on it to numb it and then Mommy and Daddy and the nurse held me down while the doctor clipped it. It bled for a little bit but I was okay and back to some smiles about 10 minutes later. It hurt but I'm glad Mommy and Daddy did that for me. They sure do love me!

I have kind of done a lot the past few days and have a lot to do this week, too. Last Friday I went out to dinner with Mommy and Daddy and slept right through it. I think they were happy about that! Saturday we went to Joplin to visit Aunt Stephanie, Uncle Nathan, Trevor, and Cody. It was a long car ride, but I slept the whole way. It was fun to paly with them! Sunday we didn't make it to church. I just didn't sleep well during the night so we slept in. That afternoon we went to a park for a BBQ with some of Mommy and Dadddy's friends. I got held by a lot of nice ladies. Monday we had a relaxing day at home but I did go with Mommy and Daddy to help them put flowers on my Great Aunt Marilee's grave. It was nice to meet her. Today I took a nap in my crib for the very first time and then had the doctor appointment, Thursday I'm having my one-month pictures taken, Friday I'm going to lunch with Mommy and one of her very good friends, and this weekend my Gramma and Grampa Wiseman are coming to visit me. Wow, I am busy!

My Aunt Natalie gave me this outfit. It's a size 12-month onesie and Mommy is going to take my picture in it each month on my birthday to see how I grow and fill out the onesie over the year.

My Cousin

My cousin, Hadleigh Denise Wiseman, was born last week! She was born on Monday, May 13, and is so pretty! I can't wait to meet her in person and play with her! I bet we will have lots of fun together as we grow up. Welcome to the world, Hadleigh!

2 Weeks and a Doctor Appointment

I'm 2 1/2 weeks old now and had my two-week doctor appointment this week. It went well, but I'm now taking some medicine. Mommy and Daddy and the doctor think I have reflux so they're giving me Zantac to help fix it. I don't like the Zantac! It tastes nasty and I usually spit it out. I don't think Mommy and Daddy like that much.

I now weigh 8 pounds and 12 ounces. I weighed 8 pounds and 1 ounce when I was born. I like to eat! They said I am 21 1/2" long, but when I was born they told me I was 22 1/2" long! I guess they measured wrong when I was born. Oh well! I'm in the 50-75 percentile for my weight and head circumference and 90 percentile for my length. The doctor looked me all over and I'm okay. My hip is a little loose in its socket so I'm going to have an ultrasound to look at that further. I'm also going to meet with an Ear Nose and Throat doctor to look at my frenulum. I might have to get it clipped. I sure hope that doesn't hurt!

I'm starting to be awake more during the day, but I do still like to sleep! My Mommy feeds me about every three hours and most of the time has to wake me up to feed me. It's hard to wake up to eat! Overnight I can go longer between the times I eat. That's nice to sleep a little more!

So far my 2 1/2 weeks here have been pretty good. Mommy and Daddy sure do love me and I love them!

One Week Old!

Today I am one week old! Mommy and Daddy celebrated by taking some videos of me. Here's one that they think is really funny, especially around the 24 second mark.

I think I've had a good first week. I've had a few kind of sleepless nights, but that's what happens when you've been in a tummy for 40 weeks and 3 days and then trying to learn what it's like to live outside. I think Mommy and Daddy have done a good job, too. They're learning just like I'm learning. Gumma has been staying with us to help out and she's been really helpful, especially overnight when Mommy and Daddy are so tired. She takes me and tries to get me to calm down and go back to sleep. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. But that's okay, we'll figure it out!

I'm ready for my second week of life! It will be a big one - Gumma is going home, we are having my pictures taken, and Daddy is going back to work.

My First Outing

Yesterday I went on my first outing! Mommy and Daddy took me to meet my pediatrician for my two-day check up. They bundled me up nice and warm because it was a cold day, even though it was May 2! My appointment was at 8:30am and we got there right on time. Good job, Mommy and Daddy!

We met with the nurse and she weighed me, but not before I gave Daddy a few good poopy diapers to change! (Have I told you how good he is at changing my diapers?) The nurse said I gained 1 ounce since I left the hospital! Good job, Mommy! You have been doing a good job of feeding me! But I bet she would say I have been doing a good job of eating!

We waited a while and the nurse practitioner came in and asked a bunch of questions and Mommy and Daddy asked her a bunch of questions, too. It sounded like they got everything answered and I think they are doing a good job with me!

After that we had to wait a while and it came around to my snack time so I had to remind them about this! Mommy was able to feed me for a bit until the doctor came in. I got to meet her and she looked me all over. She said I look good and there's nothing that concerns her. She wants to see me again in two weeks so Mommy and Daddy made an appointment to bring me back.

It was fun getting out of the house, even though I was asleep for most of the time. Mommy rode in the backseat of the car with me. I like that she does that! I wonder when my next outing will be and where I will go!

Today is my Daddy's 34th birthday! Happy Birthday, Daddy! I love you! Thank you for taking such good care of me! You are so good at changing my diapers and making sure I get fed on time! I can't wait to play with you and learn everything I can from you!

 

 

 

Hello World!

Hello world! I'm Lucy Lee Wiseman and right now I am three days old!! I was born on Sunday, April 28, 2013, at 3:26 pm, at Cox Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. My parent's names are Ross and Libby Wiseman. I think they're pretty cool so far. I know we all have a lot of getting used to each other but so far it's going really well!

 Right now the main thing I like to do is eat and sleep. I like it when mommy and daddy hold me and they like to hold me so that's good! Here are some other things about me:

• I have long fingers and like to move my hands and fingers around a lot.
• I was born by a C-section.
• I like to make funny noises when I sleep.
• I am really long and skinny, even though I weighed 8.1 pounds at birth.
• My daddy is really good at taking care of me and changing my diapers!
• I have lots of pretty clothes that I can't wait to wear!
• I am so excited to grow and learn and play with mommy and daddy and all my other family and friends!
