6 Months Old

I'm a whole 6 months old today! I can't believe I've been here for half a year already! Here's what I'm doing now:

• I have sitting on my own mastered! 
• I probably weigh about 17-18 pounds. I'll know for sure when Mommy and Daddy take me to the doctor this week. I think I might have to get more shots then. Boo!
• I've eaten lots of different foods and am really starting to get the hang of eating. My favorites are pears, apples, and sweet potatoes. I don't really like green beans and definitely don't like avocado.  
• I'm still sleeping a lot, 10-12 hours overnight and could probably sleep more but Mommy says I have to get up and play.
• I have rolling over mastered! 
• I can make all sorts of noises and sounds and just learned how to make an "oh" sound. It's fun to do!
• I can make raspberries! It's fun to do and feels funny on my lips. I also like to do them when I have food in my mouth. I don't think Mommy and Daddy like that very much, though. 
• I can stay in the nursery when Mommy and Daddy go to church and kind of like it. The ladies who take care of me are really nice and I like playing with them.  

Raspberries

I'm learning how to make lots of sounds and noises and this week I discovered I could do what Mommy calls raspberries. It's so much fun to make this noise and feels funny on my lips! Mommy and Daddy have the best time listening to me do this, too.

Clothes

I have lots and lots and lots of pretty clothes. Mommy said some came from baby showers, some came from friends giving me their children's old clothes, and some came from Mommy and Daddy buying them for me. She told me that I have a few very special clothes, too. One of them is the shirt I have on in this picture. Mommy said that she and my Aunt Stephanie used to wear it when they were babies. I have some more clothes that were Mommy's and Aunt Stephanie and can't wait to wear them!

Jewelry

My Mommy has lots of jewelry and I can't wait to wear it some day. I think she knows this and knows that I like jewelry, too, because she got me a special shirt that has a necklace on it. The best part is that the necklace will never come off! I love my Mommy and the things she buys for me!

My Baby Dedication

Last Sunday, October 13, Mommy and Daddy had me dedicated at church. It was a time for our pastor to pray for us and for Mommy and Daddy to commit that they will raise me in church and teach me about Jesus. I had a fun day! Daddy bought me a new dress for church and Gramma and Grampa and Gumma and Poppy came to church with us that day! I had so much fun playing with everyone! We took lots of pictures that day and I loved being the center of attention!

Mommy made a yummy breakfast for everyone. I didn't get to eat it, but I heard them talking about how good it was! She even had sparkling grape juice, a Ward family tradition!

Working With Daddy

There were a few times after I was first born that  Daddy would take me to work with him in the mornings. He would do this so Mommy could get some sleep. You know, because when I was just days and weeks old I didn't sleep very well so they didn't sleep very well!

Anyway, last week Daddy took me to work with him for a little while so Mommy could do a few things. I have fun working with Daddy!

5 Months Old

I'm 5 months old now! I'm learning all sorts of things and am just overall enjoying life! My five-month-birthday started with a cold and that wasn't any fun, but I made it through. Here's what I'm doing now:

• I can sit on my own! Mommy and Daddy have to sit me down or pull me up to a sitting position but once I get there I can do it on my own!
• I probably weigh about 16.5-17 pounds!
• I'm trying more foods to eat. Mommy and Daddy fed me sweet potatoes last night and they were yummy! I can't wait to eat some more! Mommy told me that she's making my food at home instead of buying it at the store. I'm so glad she's doing that. I've heard from my little friends at the church nursery that homemade food tastes so much better than store food!
• I sleep a lot. I can sleep 10-12 hours overnight and could probably sleep more but Mommy says I have to get up and play.
• I can roll over from my back to my stomach and stomach to back pretty well.
• I've learned that I can tilt my head to the side. It's fun to look at things sideways!
• If Mommy and Daddy hold on to my hands then I can pull myself up to standing from sitting down. I really like to stand. It's fun to see the world when standing up and not laying down.
• I really, really, really love my Mommy and Daddy! I'm so thankful for my Mommy for taking care of me when I was sick. One night she let me sleep with her because she knew I wasn't feeling good and just wanted to be held all night. I bet she didn't sleep very well that night, but she knew I was sleeping well. And I think I gave Mommy my cold. I love my Mommy!

Crunches

I'm learning new things all the time and one of the things I've learned lately is how to do crunches. Well, kind of! I'm trying really hard to sit up but can't quite get it so end up doing a little crunch. Hopefully some day soon I'll be able to turn that crunch into a full sit up!
