I turned 140 1/2 on October 28! I know it's been a while ago and I'm just now writing about it, but whatever. It was on a Saturday this year and it was a cold, rainy day! Mommy got me a 2024 Guinness Book of World Records book that I really wanted and it's so cool! I've really liked looking through it. There's some really cool records in it!
We saw Santa before Christmas. I was kind of excited to see him but kind of embarassed! I told him that I wanted shirts and books for Christmas! Mommy made us take some pictures and I also rode the carousel!
This year our PTA sponsored a Reflections contest that I guess other PTAs do each year. It's an arts program where you have a theme and there are different art categories you can enter with your work. I chose to do the literature category and wrote a story/kind of poem about the theme "I am hopeful because..." I won first place and got a medal, certificate, and ribbon! I'm really proud of my work and think I did a good job! I'm also really proud of my ribbon and medal!
I have lost 3 teeth in the last month! I had to have 2 teeth pulled right before Thanksgiving and then right before Christmas I actually pulled out one of the teeth myself! It was on the bottom and had been really loose and I just pulled it out. I was kind of proud of myself and I know Mommy and Daddy were, too! The tooth fairy brought me $5 for the two I had to have pulled and some mints but only $1 and some mints for the tooth I pulled out myself. I thought for sure I'd get more money for the tooth I pulled myself! Oh well.
I love my kindergarten buddies! They are so much fun and I just really enjoy seeing them each week. I gave each of them a coloring notebook and candy cane and card. I hope they know how much they mean to me! The last week of school before Christmas the 5th graders got to stay out longer at recess and play with the kindergarteners when they were at recess. It was so fun playing with them!
I had a sleepover with Darby and Rowan in November and it was a lot of fun! We had been planning it for a while because they both wanted to come to church with me. So they spent the night with me on a Saturday night and we went to church on Sunday. We made a thank you poster for Ms Megan and Ms Dana for all they do for us on Wednesday night church and also at church camp. It was fun to make that and give it to them making them feel special!
We also soaked out feet in orbies and then watched tv and slept in the basement. We had a lot of fun together! I'm so glad I have them as friends!
One day at school we had a "talent" spirit day where you were supposed to dress like your talent or bring something that showed what your talent it. I wanted to do piano for my talent, but I couldn't very well bring a piano to school! So Mommy found a piano graphic online and printed it out for me. I pinned it to my shirt and wore my talent! I also wore the medal that I won from the Battle of the Books last year so show my talent of reading! It was a fun spirit day!
Gramma and Grampa got me some music charms that I wanted for Christmas and I was so excited to open them! They are charms like treble clefs, pianos, cellos, lots of fun music type things. I already made some earrings for me and I made a pair of earrings for my piano teacher, too. She loved them and put them on right away after I gave them to her! Thank you, Gramma and Grampa!
I made some sparkling pink lemonade out of one of my recipe books a few weeks ago. It was quite the process - I had to mash strawberries, lemons, and sugar, and then mix that around to make the syrup. Then I had to get some sparkling water and mixed the syrup with the sparkling water to make the lemonade. It was good, but not as good as I had hoped it would be. I think I'll make it again sometime but will make a few changes. It was fun to do, though!
In November we had a choir and 5th grade concert at school. I auditioned for and receievd a solo in one of the songs! I was so excited to sing this solo and I think I did a really good job, too! You can watch me sing here!
