Mommy kept her prom dresses from when she was in high school and sometimes I like to get them out and dress up in them. Here I am in her dress from her freshman year as a homecoming queen candidate and when she went to prom that year. I really like this dress! It's burgandy and is velvet and just so pretty. I think it fits me perfectly, too!
The 101 Dalmatians play is over and I had so much fun with it! I was as Corgi Narrator and I had quite a few lines and was on stage for a lot of the play. I really liked my costume. I was dressed in riding gear and had a crown because it was like I was one of the Queen's royal corgi dogs! It was a fun experience and I liked meeting all the people I did. I had a lot of friends and family and even teachers come to see the play so that was cool. We performed is 5 times! I really want to do the Mary Poppins play in the spring, but am waiting on an okay from Mommy and Daddy on that! I think acting is a lot of fun and I really loved doing the 101 Dalmatians play!
I'm on the Student Council now at school and I'm so excited about it! It's open only to 5th graders and we had to sign a contract saying we would honor all the rules and stuff. We meet every other Monday from 2-2:20pm and talk about ways we can help the school. One thing we're doing for fun is planning spirit days once a month. We had some really good ideas for that at our first meeting and I'm excited to see what they work out to be. Our leaders are Ms. Johnson, the library teacher, and Mrs. McTague, the school counselor. Both of them are really nice and I'm so excited to be on Student Council, or STUCO for short!
One part about 5th grade that I was really looking forward to is being a buddy to a kindergartener! I remember when I was in kindergarten I had a 5th grade buddy named Ainsley and I really liked her! Now I'm in 5th grade and I have two kindergarten buddies named Lana and Bea. We go into their room once a week on Thursdays and help them with different things. It's really fun and I love meeting with my two buddies. We will help them with different craft items or sometimes read books to them. It's so much fun! My buddy, Lana, is really tiny! We actually met her mom at Open House and found out that Lana is so tiny because she has a brain tumor behind her right eye. This was discovered when she was only 6 months old and she has been going through treatment for it ever since. The tumor has caused her to be blind in her right eye and has stunted her growth. Hearing that made me all the more happy to be paired with her! I plan on being the best buddy I can be to them!
