I had my last Field Day ever last week! Field Day kind of isn't my thing, but I had a fun day overall. We played some fun water games and then did other games. We also had a snowcone station that I liked. Mommy was there helping out so she had to get a picture with me. I bet someday I'll miss Field Day, but not now! I would like to come back as a high schooler and help out at Field Day, though!
I did the Battle of the Books again thsi year at school and I loved it so much! Our school librarian, Ms. Johnson, led it and we got to meet with her a couple of times a week during lunch to practice for it. It was a quiz competition against other Springfield schools about the Mark Twain Nominee books. I read all 12 books again this year and actually knew a lot of the answers. We got third place overall and were super excited about it because we didn't think we did very good! I had a lot of fun with it and hope I can do it next year in middle school!
I got some really cool piano socks for my birthday! The bottom of each sock has something different. One sock says "I play the piano" and the other sock says "of course I'm awesome!" They have piano keys going up the socks, too. I love them so much!
I've had PE this year, two times a week for 30 minutes each. I don't really like PE! It's just not fun to me and I am so glad to be done with it! I had to make a fitness plan for PE and I didn't really care about it, I just filled it out because I had to! I'm going to take PE online this summer so I won't have to take it in middle school. I'm super excited about that! Everyone we've talked to has said PE online in the summer is really easy, so that's cool!
I had my last choir performance a few weeks ago. I didn't have a solo this time, but it was still fun! I have enjoyed choir, but I'm really looking forward to choir next year in middle school. I think we will sing a lot more songs in middle school choir. I've really liked my music teacher, Ms. Burke. She's so nice and is really fun. I will miss her!
It's been raining a lot lately and one day I decided I wanted to go sing in the rain, so I did! It was pretty fun and you can watch me here.
Last week we had a "growth celebration" at school where anyone who increased their scores on the end of the year tests from the middle of the year got to do something fun - we got to spray our principal and my teacher with water. It was really fun actually and fun to watch! And at the end my teacher sprayed all of the students with water! It was fun!
We had a spirit day at school earlier this month and it was a "Kids dress as teachers, teachers dress as kids" day. It was so much fun! I was looking forward to this spirit day all year! I borrowed one of Poppy's shirts and one of Daddy's ties and I dressed as my teacher, Mr. Post! He wears a pink shirt a lot and wears a tie a couple of times a week, so my outfit was perfect! I wore a name tag because he wears a name tag every day. I didn't have any glasses to wear, but Mr. Post had a bunch of extra pairs in his desk so he let me borrow a pair of his glasses to wear during the way. It was such a fun spirit day!
I had an orchestra concert at the beginning of the month. It was an all-school concert which meant that all the 5th graders in Springfield who are in orchestra were at the concert, so there wer ea lot of people. We played five songs and they kind of got worse as we went along! Haha! You can watch one of our songs here.
I am going to try and learn calligraphy! I saw it on Pinterest and thought it looked really cool. There's lots of training videos on how to do it so I want to watch them and then get good at it. Here's my start!
We had a skate night a few weeks ago - the last skate night of my elementary career! I was excited to go because I knew my kindergarten buddies were going to be there. Bea and Hailey were there and it was a lot of fun skating with them! I sure will miss seeing them next year!
