Kindergarten Buddies!

We've had kindergarten buddies this year and it's been so much fun! I've loved getting to see them each Friday and am always so sad when it doesn't work out for us to see them. 5th grade has recess from 1-1:30 and kindergarten has recess from 1:30-2pm each day. Sometimes when it's nice weather our teachers will let us stay outside to play with the kindergarteners and it's so much fun! My buddy, Bea and her friend, Hailey, always like me to push them on the swings!

Our school had a Mann Family Fun Night at the Springfield Cardinal's last week and we went to the game. My buddies were there and it was fun seeeing them! They gave me a big hug. I just love them and will miss them a lot next year! 

School Video Announcements

Since I'm a fifth grader I've gotten to record the video announcements for out school this year! Each fifth grader gets two times to record them and I actually got a third time because they needed someone extra to help one week. I really like doing this! My library teacher, Ms. Johnson, helps with it and I really like her. I would like to do more things like this next year in middle school! You can watch me here! 

Hair Cut!

I got my hair cut a few weeks ago and love it! Mommy asked me if I wanted to get my hair cut shorter in the summer just so it would be easier with swimming and stuff and I really liked that idea. I asked her if I could get it cut now and she said sure, so we did! I love it! I think we cut off like 7-8 inches! 

My Bedroom

I've wanted to paint my bedroom for a while and Mommy and Daddy said I could paint it for my birthday. I think I want to do a sage green color, so we have been looking at paint camples. I'm excited to paint it and change my room a bit. I've really liked the colors I have now, but am excited for a change. Here's my room now. Stay tuned for updated pictures! 

Choir Concert Solo

We had a choir concert a few weeks ago and I had another solo in it! You can watch me sing it here. I did a good job, but it's kind of hard to hear me because they had the background music up kind of loud. We have another concert in May, but I don't know if my teacher will have solos or not. I like singing and am excited for next year because I'm going to take choir as a class. 

Laura Ingalls Wilder House

Last week on spring break we went to the Laura Ingalls Wilder house in Mansfield, Mo. I'd wanted to go for a while and Mommy said we could go so I was excited for that. It was about an hour away and they had a museum with lots of things of Laura's and then two houses we got to tour. Most everything was original to her house when she lived there so that was cool. I've read one of her books and Mommy bought me a another book while we were there. It was a fun time! 

Reducing Oceans of Waste

I had to write a paper in school about why it's important to reduce ocean waste. You can read it below. I think I did a good job on it and, of course, I got an A!

Piano Federation

I competed in my very first piano competition a few weeks ago called Federation. I had to do one of the required songs and then another song of my choice and had to memorize both. I started working on them in January and had them memorized in no time. I was excited for it, but kind of nervous, too. I got a 5 rating, which is a Superior rating, the highest you can get! I'm really proud of myself and think I did a good job! I also loved the piano I played on. It was soo nice! I can't wait until next year to do this Federation again. 

Art Museum Exhibit!

I had a piece of artwork in the All Schol Art Exhibit again this year! This is the third time I've had art at the art museum! I think it's pretty cool to see my artwork there and everyone else gets to see it, too! I really enjoyed working on this project and think I did a really good job! 

Curlers!

So one night I slept in my curlers and then took them out the next morning to see how curly my hair was. It was so curly and I loved it! I want to do that again sometime soon! 

100th Day of School

We celebrated the 100th day of school last month and I dressed up as an old woman! I wore a dress with my robe all day and had a cane and my life alert button. I also wore my hair in curlers for the day and surprisngly it wasn't too uncomfortable! That's probably my last time to dress up and celebrate the 100th day of school because I bet we won't do that in middle school! 

Snow Day!

We had a snow day three Mondays ago and it was fun because it was a real snow day meaning we actually had snow! We didn't even really think we'd have a snow day so that made it even better. The snow was really wet and it was great for making a snowman. I had fun working on a snowman and kind of even making a heart, too. It all started to melt by the end of the day but that's okay! It was fun while it lasted!
